Successful defence of Alina Melnyk’s doctoral thesis for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Law)

On 25 September 2024, Alina Melnyk, an attorney at law with the Salkom Law Firm, who worked in the judiciary until June 2023, successfully defended her doctoral dissertation entitled ‘Theoretical foundations of precedent setting in modern judicial practice’ for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Speciality: 08 “Law”). A. Melnyk completed her extramural postgraduate studies at the Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, where she had studied since 2020. Ms Melnyk’s theoretical developments will be of great importance for the judicial practice in Ukraine and for the protection of the interests of individuals and legal entities in court proceedings.
