The criminal proceedings were opened in connection with the riots that took place on Grushevskyi Street in Kiev on 19 January 2014. The police illegally seized 9781 tyres at Mr Eduard Caspar Johannes Martinus Peter’s warehouse that brought to a halt his business. The reason for the seizure was alleged use of the tyres by unknown persons during their illegal activity.
