Doctor of Sciences (Law), professor, a corresponding member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine

Admitted to the Ukrainian Bar.  A member of the International Bar Association (IBA).

He has been practising law since 1977. Mr Kubko is one of the founders of the Salkom Law Firm (a member of Squire Patton Boggs – Salkom International Association since 2013).

Education: Law School of Kiev National Taras Shevchenko University. 1980 – PhD (Law), 1988 – special doctorate training at the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Science (Moscow). 1990 – Doctor of Law. 1990-1991 – a consultant with an Australian law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques (Sydney); 1992-1993 – a member of the special group of lawyers – consultants on CIS countries at the European Commission (Brussels).

Main areas of practice: legal regulation for conducting business in Ukraine: civil and commercial law, administrative procedure and administrative justice, privatisation, antitrust law, cross-border transactions, banking and finance law, tax law; international commercial arbitration, the European Court of Human Rights.  

Evgen Kubko provides legal advice to investment projects and trans-national corporations doing business in Ukraine; acts for clients in courts in Ukraine, in international commercial arbitrations and in foreign jurisdictions, and has extensive experience of defending clients before the European Court of Human Rights (Strasbourg).      

He advises on certain commercial transactions, transactions with securities and equity rights, on the matters of privatisation, antomonopoly laws and regulations, tax and customs laws and regulations, on the matters of real property conveyance, corporate mergers and acquisitions.

Mr Kubko performs scientific research at the Koretskyy Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine on a contract basis. He is a member of several scientific and expert committees.

Mr Kubko acts as an independent adviser to a number of government agencies and the judiciary of Ukraine.

He speaks Ukrainian, Russian and English.
